Fire alarms
52 Fire alarms
The Commission may install and maintain in any public place such fire alarms as the Commission thinks necessary for the protection of life and property from fire, and, for that purpose, may carry out such works as may be necessary for that purpose.
Before exercising the power conferred on it by this section, the Commission shall notify any authority having control of the public place in which it proposes to install the fire alarm of its intention to do so, and shall have regard to any reasonable objections made by or on behalf of the authority.
If the Commission and any authority having control of a public place fail to agree as to whether or not any fire alarm shall be installed, or as to the location of any fire alarm, the decision of the Commission in respect of the installation or location is final.
Before exercising the power conferred on it by this section, the Commission shall consult with the Director, Environment Protection Authority.
