38 Machinery and equipment
The safety management system for gas infrastructure must, where relevant, specify –
the critical equipment (including processing equipment, machinery and electrical and instrumentation systems) that relates to, or may affect, the safety of the gas infrastructure; and the systems in place to ensure that the equipment is fit for the purpose for which it is used in normal operating conditions and the extent to which it is intended to function, or be used, in an emergency.
