After section 24 of the Principal Act, the following section is inserted in Division 3:
Application for use of surveillance device A Commission may apply for a warrant under Part 2 of the Police Powers (Surveillance Devices) Act 2006 as if the Commission were a law enforcement officer within the meaning of that Act and a reference in that section to a relevant offence were read as a reference to the matter of the inquiry being undertaken by the Commission.
The amendments effected by this Part have been incorporated into the authorised version of the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1995.
