Obligation to hold contractor's licence

In force

A person must not carry on business as a contractor unless –

the person holds a contractor's licence of the occupation and class appropriate to the prescribed work, other than building services work, carried out in the course of the business; or the person is the holder of a contractor's licence by virtue of holding deemed registration.

In the case of – a body corporate, a fine not exceeding 400 penalty units; or an individual, a fine not exceeding 200 penalty units.
