Identification of authorised officers
38 Identification of authorised officers
The Secretary must issue a person appointed as an authorised officer under this Act with an identity card – containing the person's name and a photograph of the person; and stating that the person is an authorised person under this Act.
If the powers of an authorised officer have been limited by conditions, the identity card issued to the authorised officer must contain a statement of those conditions.
An authorised officer must, at the request of a person in relation to whom the authorised officer intends to exercise powers under this Act, produce for the inspection of the person his or her identity card (or in the case of an employee of the Commonwealth exercising the powers of an authorised officer, some other form of identification and authority).
