45 Representation of child

In any proceedings before a court under this Act, whether or not the child is represented by a legal practitioner, if the court thinks it is in the best interests of the child to do so, the court may – order that the child is to be separately represented; and make any other orders it considers necessary or appropriate to secure that separate representation.

In any proceedings before a court under this Act, a legal practitioner representing a child is to act in the best interests of the child, having regard to any evidence reasonably available to the legal practitioner.
