81 Application for registration
An application for registration of a vehicle must – be made to the Registrar in an approved form by or on behalf of the proposed registered operator; and state the proposed registered operator's name and residential address; and if there is no postal service to the proposed registered operator's residential address, state a postal address for the service of notices on the proposed registered operator; and state the proposed garage address for the vehicle; and state the period for which registration is sought; and if the registration payment payable under paragraph (h) is affected by the configuration in which the vehicle is operated, nominate the configuration in which the vehicle is to be operated; and contain the other information required in the approved form and be accompanied by any documents or other materials required in the form; and be accompanied by the appropriate registration payment.
The Registrar may require the applicant – to provide further information to assist in the determination of the application; or to provide to the Registrar's satisfaction – evidence that the vehicle is eligible for registration; and evidence verifying information provided in, or in relation to, the application.
An applicant must, if the Registrar so requires, produce the vehicle for inspection at a time and place nominated by the Registrar.
