50 Pilot vehicles
A person must not use, or cause or permit the use of, a pilot vehicle that does not comply with Part 3 of Schedule 2. In the case of – a first offence, a fine not exceeding 20 penalty units; or a subsequent offence, a fine not exceeding 40 penalty units.
A person must not use, or cause or permit the use of, a vehicle or combination that is required under the Act or another Act to be accompanied by one or more pilot vehicles unless it is so accompanied. In the case of – a first offence, a fine not exceeding 20 penalty units; or a subsequent offence, a fine not exceeding 40 penalty units.
For the purposes of subregulation (2), the following are taken to be using a vehicle or combination:any person using, or causing or permitting the use of, the vehicle or combination; the driver of the pilot vehicle.
