24 Decision on application for accreditation
S. 24(1) amended by No. 34/2023 s. 127(Sch. 1 item 1.8(a)).
Safe Transport Victoria must accredit an applicant if satisfied that—
the applicant is a fit and proper person to be accredited; and
the applicant has, and will continue to have, the competence and capacity to operate a bus service safely; and
all requirements in relation to the application and applicant under this Part have been complied with.

For the purposes of subsection (1), Safe Transport Victoria must have regard to whether the applicant meets or satisfies the prescribed requirements (if any).
For the purposes of subsections (1) and (2), if the applicant is not a natural person, the responsible person in relation to the applicant must demonstrate that they are a fit and proper person and have the competence and capacity specified in those subsections.
