30 Cemetery trust may purchase or acquire land for cemetery
A cemetery trust, with the approval of the Minister, may purchase or acquire land for the purposes of a public cemetery for which it is responsible.
A cemetery trust cannot purchase or acquire land for any other purpose.
The Minister must not approve the purchase or acquisition of the land unless he or she is satisfied that it is necessary or desirable that the land be purchased or acquired for the purposes of the public cemetery.
If the Minister is satisfied that the cemetery trust has sufficient funds available for the purchase or acquisition of land for the purposes of a public cemetery, the Minister may direct the cemetery trust to use its own funds for the purchase or acquisition.
