25 Receipt and forwarding of postal vote envelopes
If an envelope is received in accordance with section 106 of the Act having been posted or delivered to the Commission before 6 p.m. on election day, the Commission must record that it has received the envelope and the date on which this occurred.
If an envelope is received in accordance with section 106 of the Act having been delivered to an election official at a voting centre before 6 p.m. on election day, the election official must—
endorse the envelope with the place and date of receipt; and
sign the envelope; and
place the envelope in a sealed ballot box.
The Commission must ensure that each envelope received in accordance with section 106 of the Act having been posted or delivered to the Commission before 6 p.m. on election day is forwarded unopened to the election manager responsible for the preliminary scrutiny and counting of postal votes for the region or district to which the envelope relates.
The election official in charge of a voting centre must ensure that each envelope received in accordance with section 106 of the Act having been delivered to the voting centre before 6 p.m. on election day is forwarded unopened to the election manager responsible for the preliminary scrutiny and counting of postal votes for the region or district to which the envelope relates.
