59 Exception—shared accommodation

(1)

A person may discriminate in deciding who is to occupy residential accommodation—

(a)

in which the person or a near relative of the person lives and intends to continue to live; and

(b)

that is to accommodate no more than 3 people in addition to a person or the near relatives of a person referred to in paragraph (a).

(2)

In this section—

near relative, in relation to a person, means—

(a)

a parent or grandparent, child or grandchild (whether or not under the age of 18) or brother or sister of that person; or

(b)

the spouse or domestic partner of that person or of a person referred to in paragraph (a).
