The University of Ballarat is declared to have been established on 1 January 1994.
S. 4(1A) inserted by No. 50/2013 s. 8(2).
By amendments to this Act made by the University of Ballarat Amendment (Federation University Australia) Act 2013, the name of the University is changed from "University of Ballarat" to "Federation University Australia".
The University established in accordance with subsection (1) and as constituted in accordance with the University of Ballarat Act 1993 as in force immediately before its repeal—
continues in existence under this Act; and
S. 4(2)(b) amended by No. 50/2013 s. 8(3).
is a body politic and corporate by the name "Federation University Australia".
The University consists of—
the Council; and
the staff, other than the staff of any class that is designated from time to time by the Council not to be staff for the purposes of this section; and
the graduates; and
the students; and
the emeritus professors of the University.
