51 Communications
The proprietor of a health service establishment that provides one or more of its health services at the premises for which it is registered must ensure that an effective electronic communication system that complies with subregulation (2) is provided and kept operational at the health service establishment.
Penalty: 60 penalty units.
For the purposes of subregulation (1), an electronic communication system must—
enable patients and staff to summon assistance; and
enable calls to be made from the following—
each bed;
any recovery chair in a recovery room;
each toilet, shower or bath or other facility used for the bathing of patients;
any common room, recreational or rest area or other place where patient care is provided.
