68.05 Duration

(1)

A warrant is valid for the purpose of execution for one year after the day it is issued.

(2)

Despite paragraph (1), a registrar may from time to time extend the period of the validity of the warrant for the purpose of execution for a period of not more than one year from the day on which it would otherwise expire and so on from time to time.

(3)

An extension under paragraph (2) must not be made after the day of expiry of the warrant.

(4)

An application for an order under paragraph (2) may be made without notice to any person.

(5)

A copy of an order under paragraph (2) must be delivered to the sheriff by the party obtaining the order.

(6)

The priority of a warrant in respect of which an extension under paragraph (2) had been made must be determined by reference to the date on which the warrant was originally delivered to the person to whom it is directed.
