10 Records may be withheld for 30 years

Subject to subsections (2) and (4), the Minister by notice published in the Government Gazette may declare that any specified records or records of a specified class transferred or to be transferred from a public office to the Public Record Office shall not be available for public inspection for a period specified in the declaration, being a period of not more than 30 years, after the date of their transfer to the Public Record Office.
A declaration under subsection (1) may only be made with the agreement of the Minister responsible for the administration of the public office concerned.
A declaration under subsection (1) may not be varied or revoked.

This section does not apply to any records transferred or required to be transferred from the public office that is Gellung Warl to the Public Record Office.
