29 Audit of food safety programs
The Authority may require a licensee to have the food safety program approved in respect of the seafood safety licence audited for the purpose of determining whether the food safety program—
has been complied with during the period covered by the audit; and
is still adequate to meet the requirements of this Act, the regulations or a Code of Practice and any applicable standard under this Act at the date of the audit.
A requirement under subsection (1)—
must be made in writing; and
may be made on a one-off basis or may require an audit to be performed at any specified frequency; and
must specify the minimum qualifications or experience that must be held by the person who is to conduct any required audit; and
may impose restrictions on who may conduct any required audit; and
must specify by when, how and by whom the results of any required audit are to be reported to the Authority.
The Authority may vary any requirement for an audit at any time by giving the licensee written notice of the variation.
