47 Pension to child or adult child if no surviving partner[8]
If on the death of a member or pensioner—

a pension is payable in respect of a child or adult child under section 44 or 45; and
no other person is entitled to a benefit under section 44(1)(a), 44(1)(b) or 45(1)(a)—
there is to be paid to such person as the Board directs on behalf of the child or adult child in addition to the pension under section 44 or 45 a pension at the prescribed rate per annum.
