(1)
The Chief Commissioner, as soon as practicable after the making of the police detention decision in relation to a person, must nominate a police officer of or above the rank of superintendent (a nominated senior police officer) in relation to that person.
(2)
A nominated senior police officer must be someone who was not involved in the making of the police detention decision.
