Transport (Compliance and Miscellaneous) (Ticketing) Regulations 2017

loading onto an Axium EX8000 3GB either or both of the following—

information relating to the location of the Axium EX8000 3GB;

information from a global positioning system relevant to determining the location of that Axium EX8000 3GB;

storing by that Axium EX8000 3GB either or both of the following—

information loaded as described in paragraph (a);

information generated by that Axium EX8000 3GB relating to the location of that Axium EX8000 3GB;

reading from a token produced to an authorised officer for inspection by the Axium EX8000 3GB being used by that authorised officer for the purposes of that inspection information relating to one or a combination of the following—

the primary account number of the token;

the sequence number of the token;

the token type;

the expiry date of the token;

processing by the Axium EX8000 3GB the information read as described in paragraph (c) to generate a unique token identifier for the token;

verifying by the Axium EX8000 3GB, by reference to information read as described in paragraph (c), whether the token associated with the unique token identifier may be used for the purpose of obtaining, or proving the existence of, a ticket;

transferring or copying by means of either or both a wired or wireless network to central computer system B one or a combination of the following—

the information stored as described in paragraph (b);

the unique token identifier generated as described in paragraph (d);

the result of the verification described in paragraph (e);

processing of the information transferred or copied as described in paragraph (f) to confirm one or a combination of the following—

whether the token may be used for the purpose of obtaining, or proving the existence of, a ticket;

a ticket;

the vehicle identification of a train, tram or bus;

the route of that train, tram or bus;

the location of that train, tram or bus;

the location of a prescribed device (other than that token or that Axium EX8000 3GB);

transferring or copying by means of either or both a wired or wireless network to the Axium EX8000 3GB the information confirmed as described in paragraph (g);

storing by central computer system B one or a combination of the following—

the information transferred or copied as described in paragraph (f);

the information confirmed as described in paragraph (g);

the information transferred or copied as described in paragraph (h);

storing by the Axium EX8000 3GB the information transferred or copied as described in paragraph (h);

producing a printed record of information stored as described in paragraph (i) or (j).
