8 The process containing the steps set out in the following paragraphs—
reading from a token by a Conduent CAS430 Universal Platform Validator information relating to one or a combination of the following—
the primary account number of the token;
the sequence number of the token;
the token type;
the expiry date of the token;
processing by the Conduent CAS430 Universal Platform Validator the information read as described in paragraph (a) to generate a unique token identifier for the token;
verifying by the Conduent CAS430 Universal Platform Validator, by reference to information read as described in paragraph (a), whether the token associated with the unique token identifier may be used for the purpose of obtaining, or proving the existence of, a ticket;
storing by the Conduent CAS430 Universal Platform Validator information relating to one or a combination of the following—
the unique token identifier generated as described in paragraph (b);
the result of the verification described in paragraph (c);
the use of the token;
transferring or copying, by means of either or both a wired or wireless network, to central computer system B one or a combination of the following—
the location of the Conduent CAS430 Universal Platform Validator;
the information stored as described in paragraph (d);
storing by central computer system B information transferred or copied as described in paragraph (e);
producing a printed record of information stored as described in paragraph (f).
