Suspension

S. 187A(1) amended by No. 34/2023 s. 110(1).

(1)

The Minister may immediately suspend a person from office as the Chief Investigator, Transport Safety if the Minister is of the opinion that the person—

(a)

is incapable of performing their functions or duties; or

(b)

has refused or neglected to perform their functions or duties; or

(c)

has engaged in misconduct; or

(d)

is otherwise unfit to continue to be the Chief Investigator, Transport Safety.

(2)

A suspension under subsection (1) is for a period not exceeding 3 months.

(3)

If a person is suspended from office under this section, the person remains entitled to their remuneration and allowances as the Chief Investigator, Transport Safety during the period of suspension.
