In preparing a draft Sustainable Water Strategy, the Minister must—

consult with the consultative committee appointed by the Minister under section 22D;

give notice of the preparation of the Strategy to—

any Authority whose interests the Minister considers are likely to be affected by the Strategy; and

each specified Aboriginal party for an area that is wholly or partly within the region for which the Strategy is being prepared;

publish notice of the undertaking of the strategy and the preparation of the Strategy in a local newspaper circulating generally in the area to which the Strategy applies;

make the draft Strategy available for inspection by the public for at least 2 months after its preparation;

publish a notice in a newspaper circulating generally in the State and in a local newspaper circulating generally in the region which will be affected by the Strategy stating where and when the draft Strategy can be inspected and inviting public comment by a set date;

consider any comments made by the set date;

consider any comments of any panel appointed under section 22F;

make any appropriate changes to the draft Strategy.

The set date in a notice under subsection (1)(e) must be a day not less than 35 days after the day on which the notice is published.
