299 Civil remedies not affected by bringing of proceeding
The bringing of a proceeding or the imposition of a penalty for, or the entering of a conviction in respect of, an offence under this Act or the regulations or by-laws made under this Act does not take away from the right of an Authority or any other person to recover from any person—

any sum for loss or damage suffered by the Authority or person due to the contravention, including the value of any water wrongfully taken, used or diverted; or

the costs and expenses incurred by the Authority or person in remedying that loss or damage.
