29 Acting appointment
The Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister, may appoint a person to act as the Commissioner—
during a vacancy in the office of the Commissioner; or
during any period, not exceeding 12 months, when the Commissioner is absent or is for any other reason unable to perform the duties of the office of Commissioner.
A person appointed under subsection (1) is entitled to the remuneration and allowances that are determined from time to time by the Governor in Council.
While a person is acting as the Commissioner, the person has all the powers and may perform any of the functions of the Commissioner.
The Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister, may revoke an appointment under subsection (1) at any time.
