40 Use of Aboriginal Trading Account

Subject to this Act, the moneys standing to the credit of the Aboriginal Trading Account shall be used —

(a)

in the purchase from persons of Aboriginal descent of artifacts and other articles for re‑sale by the CEO;

(b)

in the supply of materials to such persons to enable them to make or procure artifacts or other articles;

(c)

in the purchase, lease, or hire, of vehicles, plant, machinery, tools, or other things to enable persons of Aboriginal descent to undertake, engage in or carry out contract work or other employment or business, whether as individuals, in groups, or by community effort,

and when not immediately required for the purposes of this Act may be invested in any investment authorised by law as in force immediately before the coming into operation of the Trustees Amendment Act 1997 for the purpose of the investment of trust funds.
