242 Restriction on use of word “co‑operative” or similar words
(1)
A person other than a co‑operative must not trade, or carry on business, under a name or title containing the word “Co‑operative” or “Cooperative” or the abbreviation “Co‑op” or words importing a similar meaning.
Penalty for this subsection: a fine of $2 000.
(2)
The regulations may exempt or provide for the exemption of specified entities or kinds of entities from subsection (1).
