57 Confidentiality
This section applies to a person who is or has been a member or a staff member.
A person to whom this section applies must not, directly or indirectly, record, disclose or make use of any information obtained in the course of duty except —
for the purpose of performing functions under this Act or another written law; or
as required or allowed by this Act or under another written law; or
with the written consent of the person to whom the information relates; or
in other prescribed circumstances.
Penalty: $10 000 or imprisonment for 12 months.
Subsection (2) does not apply to the disclosure of any summary or statistical information that could not reasonably be expected to enable particulars relating to any person to be ascertained.
