146A Application and construction of Division
(1)
This Division applies only in relation to a Council election and the poll taken for such an election.
(2)
Where in relation to a Council election the relevant number is one and there are only 2 candidates, a reference in this Division and Schedule 1 to —
(a)
the indication of an elector’s first preference for a candidate, shall be read and construed as a reference to the indication of the candidate for whom the elector votes;
(b)
first preference votes given for a candidate, shall be read and construed as a reference to votes given for the candidate.
