44 Draft codes of practice, preparation of
The Commissioner may, with the approval of the Minister, prepare a draft code of practice for submission to the Minister for consideration.
The Commissioner must, if the Minister directs, prepare a draft code of practice for submission to the Minister for consideration.
For the purpose of preparing a draft code of practice, the Commissioner must arrange for consultation with, and invite submissions from, persons and organisations that the Commissioner considers would have an interest in the terms of the proposed draft code.
Without limiting subsection (3), the Commissioner must consult with, and invite submissions from, the following —
principal organisations that represent those suppliers that are likely to be affected by the terms of the draft code of practice;
principal organisations representing consumers.
