13A Transaction cards, form and issue of
When a pawnbroker or second‑hand dealer has verified a person’s identity for the purposes of section 39(b), the pawnbroker or second‑hand dealer —
if the person agrees, may take and retain a photograph of the person; and
if a photograph of the person is taken, may issue to the person a card (a transaction card) that complies with subregulations (2) and (3).
A transaction card complies with this subregulation if it —
bears the person’s photograph, full name, signature and date of birth; and
bears the date and place of issue, date of expiry and an identifying number; and
is in a form and of a standard approved by the Commissioner.
A transaction card complies with this subregulation if it is issued for a period not greater than 12 months.
