44B Water, air and equipment used in hatchery

(1)

A licensee or permit holder operating a hatchery shall ensure that the seaward opening of a pipe used for the intake of sea water to be used in the hatchery is located —

(a)

at a distance not less than the approved distance; and

(b)

in the approved direction,

from the seaward opening of any pipe from which water used in the hatchery is discharged.

Penalty: $2 000.

(2)

A licensee or permit holder operating a hatchery shall filter or treat —

(a)

water, air and equipment used in the hatchery; and

(b)

waste water to be discharged from the hatchery,

in accordance with the standards set out in Division 2 of Schedule 2 or as directed by an inspector.

Penalty: $2 000.
