44E Source of broodstock for hatcheries
A licensee or permit holder operating a hatchery shall not allow pearl oysters to be used in the hatchery as broodstock unless the pearl oysters —
(a)
were produced in that hatchery; or
(b)
were taken from the wild from within the waters defined as Zones 1, 2 or 3 of the Western Australian pearl oyster fishery in the Pearling (Joint Authority Pearl Oyster Fishing) (Declaration of Zones) Notice 1992.
Penalty: $2 000.
