907 Certificate of Authority

(1A)

The rest of this regulation does not apply to a police auxiliary officer.

(1)

A member who is not in uniform shall have with him or her the member’s Certificate of Authority, which the member shall produce whenever requested to do so by a person in relation to whom the member is about to exercise any power or duty as a member unless —

(a)

the member has a reasonable cause to refuse to do so; or

(b)

it is not possible to do so.

(2)

A member who is not in uniform shall display the member’s Certificate of Authority at all times while on police property or in police buildings, whether or not the member is on duty at the time.

(3)

A member shall not transfer the Certificate of Authority issued to him or her to another member and shall not permit any person whether a member or not to use his or her Certificate of Authority.
