10C Duration of wagering licence
A wagering licence —
takes effect at the time the licence is granted or at a later time specified in the licence; and
is valid for 40 years, or any lesser period stated in the wagering licence, unless —
cancelled or surrendered earlier in accordance with this Part; or
extended under this section.
If invited by the Minister to do so, the wagering licensee may, before the wagering licence expires, apply to the Minister for a licence extension.
On application under subsection (2), the Minister may extend the wagering licence for a period determined by the Minister, after consulting —
the Commission; and
any other person the Minister considers appropriate.
A wagering licence may be extended under this section more than once, but the total cumulative period for which a wagering licence may be extended under this section cannot exceed 2 years from the day on which the licence would otherwise expire.
A wagering licence cannot be renewed, but a person who holds or has held a wagering licence may apply for a subsequent wagering licence if invited by the Minister to do so.
