34 Effect of this Act on existing rights and obligations
The operation of this Act, including anything done or omitted to be done under or for the purposes of this Act, is not to be regarded as —
being a breach of confidence or any other civil wrong; or
being a breach of a contract or instrument, including (without limitation) a provision prohibiting, restricting or regulating the assignment or transfer of assets, rights or liabilities; or
requiring any act to be done under a contract or instrument; or
giving rise to a right or remedy of a party to a contract or instrument or causing or permitting the termination of, or exercise of rights under, a contract or instrument; or
an event of default under a contract or instrument; or
causing a contract or instrument to be void or otherwise unenforceable; or
except as provided in section 29(3) and (4), releasing, or allowing the release of, a surety or other obligee from the whole or part of an obligation.
