29 Nominations
The returning officer must give each eligible elector written notice calling for nominations of candidates for an election.
The notice must specify —
the manner and form in which a nomination may be made; and
the date of the commencement, and the date of the close, of the period for nominating candidates for the election.
An eligible elector may, in the manner and form specified in the notice and within the nomination period specified in the notice, nominate as a candidate in the election but cannot nominate another person as a candidate.
The returning officer must reject a nomination if it is not —
made in the manner and form specified in the notice; and
received by the returning officer before the close of the period specified in the notice.
