Codes of practice
52 Codes of practice
The Waste Authority may, with the approval of the Minister, make codes of practice for the provision of waste services —
generally; or
in relation to local government waste; or
in relation to other particular types of situations.
A code must be made in consultation with such entities as have, in the opinion of the Waste Authority, a relevant interest in its provisions.
A code must not be inconsistent with any written law.
The Interpretation Act 1984 section 43(7), (8) and (9) applies to a code as if it were subsidiary legislation.
The Waste Authority may amend or revoke a code or revoke it and substitute another code for it.
The Waste Authority must cause any code, and any amendment or substituted code, to be published for public information.
