Giving improvement notice
79 Giving improvement notice
This section applies if the director-general is satisfied on reasonable grounds that—
a person has contravened, is contravening, or is likely to contravene ART legislation; or
it is otherwise necessary to require a person to rectify a matter or activity to prevent or minimise a risk to another person’s health, safety or welfare or to public health or safety.
The director-general may give a notice (an improvement notice) to the person requiring the person to rectify the matter or activity to which the notice relates.
If the person is a corporation, the director-general may also give an improvement notice to an associated entity of the corporation.
