Biosecurity Act 2023

Registration includes—

a condition that the registered person must cooperate with any biosecurity audit required by the director‑general; and

any other condition prescribed by regulation; and

any other condition the director‑general considers appropriate, including any of the following:

a condition requiring the person to engage in the regulated dealing in accordance with all or part of a stated standard, code, guideline, protocol, program or other instrument;

a condition requiring the person to carry out stated works, or put in place stated measures, to manage the biosecurity risk involved in the regulated dealing;

a condition requiring the person to have in place an alternative arrangement for the regulated dealing, that has been approved by the director‑general;

a condition requiring the person to take out and maintain an insurance policy that indemnifies the person against liability in relation to the regulated dealing;

a condition requiring the person to do something before their registration is suspended, cancelled or surrendered to ensure that the biosecurity matter and carriers involved in the regulated dealing are dealt with appropriately on the suspension, cancellation or surrender;

a condition providing that the registration does not take effect until a stated day, act or event.

In this section:

is no longer registered to engage in the regulated dealing; or

is unable, for any reason, to continue to engage in the regulated dealing.
