Casino Control Act 2006

If the commission is satisfied that a ground for disciplinary action exists, or may exist, in relation to a casino employee, the commission may give the casino employee a notice (a disciplinary notice).

The disciplinary notice must—

state the ground for disciplinary action; and

tell the casino employee that the casino employee may, not later than 3 weeks after the day the casino employee is given the notice, give a written response to the commission about the notice.

If, after considering any responses given within the 3-week period, the commission is satisfied that a ground for disciplinary action exists in relation to the casino employee, the commission may take disciplinary action against the casino employee.

To remove any doubt, the disciplinary action may consist of 2 or more of the actions mentioned in section 57 (a) to (d).

The disciplinary action takes effect when the casino employee receives written notice of the action or, if the notice provides for a later time of effect, that time.
