139 Receipt of declaration voting papers
(1)
An officer who receives completed voting papers in relation to a vote cast under section 136A shall—
(a)
endorse the time and date of receipt on the envelope; and
(b)
if the officer is not the commissioner—give the papers to the commissioner or an authorised officer.

For restrictions on sending completed ballot and voting papers by fax, see s 329.
(2)
The commissioner shall keep the papers in safe custody for the purposes of scrutiny under part 12.
