19 Inspector may require information
This section applies if an inspector reasonably requires information from a person who is subject to a fuel restriction.
An inspector may, by written notice, require the person to give the inspector the following information:
the kinds of fuel held by the person;
the quantity of a fuel held by the person;
the quantity of a fuel sold by the person during a stated period;
other information prescribed by regulation.
The notice must state—
the information that must be given; and
how the information must be given; and
the period of time (not less than 24 hours) within which the information must be given.
A person commits an offence if the person fails to comply with a notice given to them under subsection (2).
Maximum penalty: 50 penalty units.
An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
