Fuels Rationing Act 2019

An inspector may arrange to stop the supply of fuel to premises if the inspector believes on reasonable grounds that a person is contravening a direction under section 20.

An inspector may also arrange to stop the supply of fuel to premises if the inspector believes on reasonable grounds that—

fuel is being used on premises in contravention of a fuel restriction; and

a direction under section 20 is unlikely to end the contravention because, for example—

the premises are unoccupied (whether temporarily or permanently); or

after making reasonable inquiries, the inspector cannot find the occupier of the premises; or

the occupier is unlikely to comply with the direction; and

the contravention is likely to continue unless action is taken under this section.

The inspector must give the occupier of the premises a written notice stating that the supply of fuel will be stopped.

It is sufficient if the notice is addressed to ‘the occupier’ of the premises.
