Fuels Rationing Act 2019

This section applies if an inspector believes on reasonable grounds that—

fuel has been used, or is being used, on premises in contravention of a fuel restriction; or

fuel has been used on premises in contravention of a fuel restriction and that a further contravention is likely.

The inspector may give the occupier of the premises a written direction to take action stated in the direction to ensure that fuel is used in accordance with the fuel restriction.

It is sufficient if the direction is addressed to ‘the occupier’ of the premises.

The direction must state—

a reasonable period within which the person must comply with the direction; and

the penalty for failure to comply with the direction.
