Heritage Act 2004

The council may, in writing, ask the commissioner for revenue for the following information in relation to a lease:

the lessee’s name;

the lessee’s home address or other contact address.

The Territory privacy principles apply to the council (see Information Privacy Act 2014, sch 1).

The council may ask the commissioner for information in relation to more than 1 lease at a time. Words in the singular include the plural (see Legislation Act, s 145 (b)).

The commissioner for revenue must disclose the information required in a request made in accordance with subsection (1).

The council must not—

make a request under subsection (1) in relation to a lease more often than—

once every 3 months; or

if a regulation prescribes a longer period—once each period; and

use the information provided by the commissioner for revenue about a lessee other than—

for giving notice to the lessee under this Act; or

to take action under this Act which affects the lessee.

Nothing in this section prevents the council from asking for information under section 118A.
