44 Registrar may register employee without application
The registrar may register a person as a worker if—
(a)
the person is not registered as a worker; and
(b)
the registrar—
(i)
becomes aware of information (other than because of an application under section 40) indicating that the person is, or was, a worker for a covered industry; and
(ii)
is satisfied that the person should be registered as a worker for the industry.
Example a return under s 49 shows the person as an employee for a covered industry
Note The registration day for a worker registered under this section is the day the person’s name is entered on the workers register (see s 15).
