Review of Act
524 Review of Act
The Minister must, as soon as practicable 3 years after the day this section commences—
review the operation and effectiveness of this Act; and
present a report of the review to the Legislative Assembly.
This section expires 6 years after the day it commences.
Chapter 20 Transitional
Note This chapter, among other things, preserves the operation of certain parts of the legislative scheme enacted under the repealed Planning and Development Act 2007. If a matter relating to the operation of the repealed legislative scheme is not provided for in this chapter or another territory law, the Legislation Act, s 84 applies. That provision provides that the repeal of the Planning and Development Act 2007 does not affect the previous operation of the repealed Act or anything done, begun or suffered under the repealed Act and does not affect an existing right, privilege or liability acquired, accrued or incurred under the repealed Act.
Unless otherwise provided for in this chapter or another territory law, an investigation, proceeding or remedy in relation to an existing right, privilege or liability under the repealed Act may be started, exercised, continued or completed, and the right, privilege or liability may be enforced and any penalty imposed, as if the repeal had not happened.
