60 Owning unregistered radiation source
A person commits an offence if—
the person owns a regulated radiation source; and
the person fails to apply to register the radiation source not later than 7 days after the day the person acquires ownership.
Maximum penalty: 50 penalty units.
A person does not commit an offence against subsection (1) if—
the person manufactures the radiation source; and
the person is authorised under a licence to manufacture the radiation source; and
the person owns the radiation source for a period of not longer than 90 days after the day the manufacture of the radiation source is completed.
An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
