Decision of internal review committee
39 Decision of internal review committee
The internal review committee must review the internally reviewable decision and make a decision as soon as is reasonably practicable, and within 28 days, after the first meeting of the committee.
The internal review committee must—
confirm the internally reviewable decision; or
vary the internally reviewable decision; or
set aside the internally reviewable decision and substitute another decision that the committee considers appropriate.
A decision under this section, except a decision taken to be a confirmation under subsection (4), is decided by a majority of votes of all internal review committee members.
If the reviewable decision is not varied or set aside within the 28‑day period, the decision is taken to have been confirmed by the internal review committee.
